Crystal Grids
I first came across Crystals as a young child. I remember on a day trip we took a boat across the water to Shaldon, in Devon. There was a gift shop there and it sold all kinds of trinkets gifts and crystals. I often would be fascinated too, when we walked across Dartmoor and I would find shards of granite with hidden quartz pieces amongst the hard rock.
Crystals now have become something of a main stream accessory item, with many wearing them as jewellery or having massive geodes in their entrance hallways. Even salt crystals adorn our homes and treatment spaces.
Yet Crystals do have an energy and power that we can often underestimate, and with teh right practionire they can heal and be amazing complimentary additions to our wellbeing and healthy lifestyle. Some can be used in drinking water or an elixir created, others are powerful when worn or used as an amulet to resonate with our blockages and heal emotional scars. Small nuggets of Rose Quartz can impart love to those who need assurance in their pockets or handbags. Plants. pets, homes and even cars can have crystal placements used with them.
One day in a bookshop i spotted a fabulous little book by Kiera Fogg from Little box of Rocks. Inside Kiera sets out a comprehensive layout of grids, each with their own unique meaning and use. Most have a main desire stone in the centre, with focus stones and way stones to be placed to help harness the right alignment of energy to enhance the work of the grid for its chosen purpose.
I chose to create a ‘Good-for-anything’ Grid, using clear quartz and amethyst on a flower grid. Kiera decorates her Grids in the book with lovely feathers and flowers. I used some gorgeous flowers that matched the amethyst and sweet daisies for the purity of white against the clear quartz.
I am still learning so much about teh variety of crystals and their uses in healing. Often I find some will repel me when I pick them up. Once I placed Chryosolla by my bedside as it was said to enhance dreams, and I had a frightening nightmare, very vivid that had me bolted up and sweating!! I am sure there was a message or lesson within that, but I never used it again.
If you get an opportunity to use a crystal healer, then do, they have a wealth of knowledge on where to place crystals and which ones are suited to your ailment or healing requirements.
A sweet friend bought me selenite wands which I place above the main doorway into our home and kitchen, I like to think of it sprinkling down cleansing dust on all who enter.
Remember to cleanse or dust your crystals regularly to stop any stagnant energy forming. I like to place my crystals under running water (not selenite though) then place them in the sunshine ( be careful of clear crystals as they can create a fire) or sometimes I choose the full moonlight. I have a cute wooden small brush to dust my large white quartz geode and do the same to my Himalayan Salt lamp ( never wipe your salt lamp with water as it is salt and this will dissolve it slightly)
I hope to create little crystal wellbeing boxes as gifts for my clients. Kiera’s work and shop are certainly a source of inspiration. If you live in America do check her out. I believe she also has a Canadian website too!
