It has arrived! We have crossed over into the Year of 2022. I was also excited to learn that for the Chinese New Year 2022 the symbol is that of the Tiger.
2022 is the year of the Yang-Water Tiger. Yang-Water is mainly connected with the flowing water, cloud, and river. Tiger is in the group of Wood. Tiger primarily has a Yang-Wood, which is also a tall tree.
So what better way to celebrate this connection by way of creating a lovely monthly note tree with little hand rolled tubes of paper (trees) hanging from a fallen twiggy branch (wood), tied up with natural twine to help set the intention for the year ahead.
All you need is some paper, some twine or string and a foraged twiggy branch from a favourite place that you like to take walks in.
Cut or tear the paper into strips and write a monthly note inside. I used rag paper as I love its manufacturing methods and texture but any paper will do.
When you write inside. It can be an intention or goal that you are aiming to complete or begin. It could be prompts to help you keep on track with your yearly plans. Or quotes that inspire and uplift or questions to ask yourself each month to see where you are heading. Perhaps think about what needs to be done or reviewed as you move through each month.
Number them per month and tie them to your twig. Hang it somewhere that will bring you joy. Then at the start of each month untie and unravel to reveal what you have written. Perhaps transfer your notes and observations into a seasonal journal to keep you accountable as you go along.
Equally you could tie little leaves or shells or feathers that float down to the twine to manifest your connection with nature and the outdoor elements.
Let me know how you get on.
